In Layout mode I have my keyboard set to channel 1 and each of my drumpads set to channel 2. In trying to fix this problem I've looked through some YouTube videos and other forums and messed around with a couple possible solutions that haven't worked yet. How do I put separate channel strips on each device? My problem is that the drum pad I have set up will only play the channel strips I already have put on the keyboard. My keyboard is set up with a split so there is a piano on the left half and a synth on the right half.
I have an M-Audio KeyRig 49 keyboard and an Akai LPD8 pad controller. For the most part it's been pretty intuitive but I'm having trouble getting two separate midi devices to play separate channel strips. I just downloaded MainStage yesterday so I'm still trying to figure everything out.
